There are several inviting beaches and small sandy coves to be found within easy reach of Alghero.

If you have a car head along the picturesque coastal road south to discover the pretty small town of Bosa.

Or head north to the blue lagoon of Stintino or dramatic Castelsardo.

Take a scenic boat trip and visit the natural beauty and mystery of Neptune’s Grotto.

Food and Wine

Closer to home Alghero’s weekly market is every Wednesday morning just around the corner from Mansarda Janna!

Alghero has two of the largest vineyards in Italy producing two of the most well known wines in Italy: Sella Mosca & Santa Maria Palma. Sella Mosca has a tour of the wine cellars & a small tasting afterwards, definitely a must for all those wine buffs……..& it is free.

There are several really good restaurants and pizzarias close the the apartment. Alguer Mia is a top quality restaurant popular with locals and visitors, the best pizza in town and fabulous seafood. The Lido is right on the beach, spaghetti vongole and spaghetti lido are highly recommended. Les Arenes has great pizzas, atmosphere and is good for people watching. No need to order dessert as the gelateria next door has delicious ice-creams!

There are also many “Agro tourism” (restaurants) in the local area that will give you the opportunity to taste traditional foods that have been reared or grown on the land.
